Post on this thread if you think this is a good idea!! We'd like to see what kind of interest there is in a possible Discworld fan game so post here and tell us what you think! Thanks!

I think it's a good idea... the only thing I'm worried about is legal issues. Well, that and how the game will actually be made.

Speaking about the legal issues, I think it's the usual stuff for fanprojects: this isn't commercial, so it's not likely to get a C & D. But if we get it, we just shut it down As for the second question, we have to choose an engine first (AGS, Visionaire or else).

If it turns out a graphic adventure is too ambitious, maybe a text adventure (perhaps with some pictures) would be a good alternative? Also, I saw this project got a mention on the unofficial Google+ Terry Pratchett page: plus.google.com/113224978031189531427/posts/Z2YGRPPaGD1

Created a small legal notice; we may try to contact Perfect Entertainment, however.
And another thing, guys: if you think the forum colours are too eye-hurting, feel free to change them.

A good idea? Its a great idea!
Every time I read the Discworld books, the images in my head are from the first game. I replayed it a while ago, just because I miss it.
Too few people use forums, so even if you dont get many shouts here, I am sure people will be gratefull when it's released.

To tell you the truth, we're unsure about the project's current status (as you can see, there isn't much activity on the forums for now). However, we are happy to see a new face on the board. Perhaps you have some plot ideas to share?

Ok, this is the only real attempt at a fan game I have come across. I am highly interested myself. I noticed the user Justin uses Blender. Great, I am a descent Blender modeller/animator, so I would love to help in that way if possible. Not sure what engine you are going to use, but if somene knows python Blender has a game engine. Or if youd prefer more of the first two games feel, I also do Flash. I can also help with SFX, music, and voices for dialogue. If this is still up for work, I would like to know. I have heard ideas for the basic plot. Discworld Noir introduced Lewton who worked with Nobby from the watch and Lewton was a PI investigating Murders. Now I believe you would want a new Character? Why not have the Disc get its first Super Hero? I can only imagine the humor in developing a super hero, and how does he get his powers? Some spell he perhaps got from a failed wizard; So his skills instead of being so super, are only half-ass? Oh no, the Patrician found you were fighting crime without a permit? About to catch a bad-guy, but two-flowers flash from the imp camera foils you? I have many ideas, I hope there are still some talented people interested as well.
