Basic plot idea

Just a rough concept - the player character is a new member of the guard, maybe a new race who isn't currently represented (it's been a while since I read any of the novels - I know there's Human, Dwarf, Troll, Werewolf - can't remember what others? Golem? Elf?

Anyway, the game's story could revolve around both a crime the guard are investigating, and the true identity of the player character. Vetenari would have a secret agenda as always.

I like the idea; I think the crime in question could be the disappearance of Hogfather. However, rather than following the plot of the eponymous book, I'd suggest making up a new one. Perhaps this disappearance could be related to some massive conspiracy (not involving the Auditors), which has some connection to this new character's past. Perhaps he could even experience some flashbacks as he tries to piece the puzzle together.
